How long have you been cycling for?

I’ve been cycling for about 6 years.

What’s your top bike maintenance tip?

My maintenance tip is after each ride clean and check over your bike. Always better to do repairs at home than have it break out on the trails.

What are your favourite Weldtite products?

My favourite Weldtite products are Dirt Wash bike cleaner and the degreaser machine. They make my bike and chain look brand new.

Where are your favourite locations to ride?

The top places to ride are Gisburn Forest, not only my local ride but there's also a lot happening there with new trails popping up all of the time. Llandegla is also a great place. I would recommend everyone to go to Antur Stiniog for an uplifting day. There's a trail for everyone from beginner to hard core - it's an awesome day!

What bike do you ride at the moment?

My bike is a Specialized FSR Comp Pro.

How often do you carry out bike maintenance?

I always check over my bike after every ride. It's always best to get any maintenance done straight away.

What do you love about cycling?

I love getting out on the bike as much as I can. The buzz that I get from it is awesome. When you're flying down a hill nothing else matters!!! Not only that, it's the lads that I go biking with that make me want to go out on the bike, the laugh we have is just as good as the riding!

Product Reviews:

Dirtwash Chain Cleaning Machine

The latest product couldn’t have come at a better time - I was half way through cleaning my bike when I received the chain cleaner in the post. I’ve seen these before but never used one as I didn’t think they really worked, so my mind was already made up that it wasn’t going to be any good.

Cyclo Tyre Removal & Fitting Tool

At first glance I wondered if this tool was actually needed as normal tyre levers do the job, however after trying it out I was surprised how easy and quick it was (and it’s just as easy to put the tyre back on!). It’s a great piece of kit that will go with me anywhere my bike does as it can easily fit in a good size rucksack and is light enough not to bother me. I normally just change the inner tube if I get a puncture while I’m out and about on my bike then I sort it out when I get home but the red devil patches mean I don’t really need to carry a spare tube with me on short rides. It’s another handy little product from Weldtite that keeps me riding!

Dirtwash Bike Cleaner (1ltr)

Having used Muc Off for a long time I though nothing else was worth trying...so after a blast round Gisburn Forest I decided to leave my bike till the day after to clean so the mud was nice and dry.

TF2 Performance All-Weather Lubricant with Teflon® (100ml)

When testing the TF2 lubricant, I started by degreasing and cleaning my chain and cassette to remove any other lube that might have been left on. I then applied the TF2 along the chain as I was turning and changing gear as I think this is the best way to make sure you get an even covering. I tested the lube round Gisburn Forest in Lancashire - my local ride.
