TF2 Plus Dry Lubricant with Teflon Surface Protector and TF2 Dry Wax Chain Wax + Krytox

I took these two dry chain lubes to a weekend trip to Afan and Forest of Dean with my University mountain bike club. The weather was overcast but never actually rained, the ground was damp and there were a few puddles to splash the chain, so it gave me the opportunity to give these two a test in intermediate conditions on consecutive days.

I found the dry lube had to be squeezed out of the bottle rather than dripped onto the chain, a problem probably caused by not shaking the bottle well before application, which did lead to me squeezing some lube onto my wheel.

The Dry wax, with its rather noticeable white colour made application easy as I was instantly able to see where the wax had worked into before giving it a quick wipe to get rid of the excess and to let it dry.

Both lubes worked really well, keeping the chain silent and free from dirt. The Dry lube, I found is perhaps less water resistant than the Wax. After washing the bike at each trail centre with a hose, to avoid spreading tree diseases in the dirt, the Dry lube came off almost completely, needing a re-application, whereas the Wax felt like it could have still been used again without needing it.

TF2 Dry lube and Wax are both awesome at fighting the never ending battle of keeping chains rolling and rust free.
